Physical Environment
Park Royal Data Centre is climate controlled with N+1 air conditioning systems. Two stage fire protection is provided by Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) systems and advanced fire promimetyproximety systems utilising FM200 gas to suppress fire whilst enabling your systems to continue to operate.
Power
230V AC or 400V three phase AC with up to 32 amps dual feed per rack can be provided at Park Royal. N+1 UPS systems seamlessly take over in the event of mains power failure. 3 diesel driven generators that are refuelable during use and have 24x7 fuel delivery contracts in place provide an additional safeguard.
Security
The main entrance is accessed using a proximity badge system and multiple interior doors have 24/7 biometric finger scanners to manage access. Dedicated rack and cage areas then contain individually locked cabinets. High resolution colour CCTV coverage of all entry and exit points along with several points inside the data centre is provided, along with 72 hour multiplex recording of all cameras.
Network
Network connectivity is provided by 'carrier neutral' multiple fibre and IP transit, meaning that clients can choose their preferred connectivity provider. Multiple 10Gb links operate between the two London sites giving customers the opportunity to spread their servers across multiple sites for resilience.
The close proximity of the Docklands Data Centre to Central London makes it ideal as an opperational based Data Centre where ‘City’ customers need rapid access to their infrastucture. This Data Centre boasts the highest levels of security and connectivity to satisfy the stringent requirements of the Financial Services community and has the necessary conectivty to Essant’s other Data Centres to provide effective Business Continuity capability.

Newly completed in close proximity to Essant’s Head Office and Monitoring & Management Centre with a total capacity of over 400 racks. This Data Centre has all the facilities you would expect from a modern purpose built facility with additional features such as private suites, build area and hot desks all conveniently located close to the junction of the M1 and M62.
Physical Environment
DC3 is climate controlled with Airedale Water Cooled Chillers. Two stage Fire protection is provided by very sensitive VESDA systems and optical and ionic smoke detectors.
Power
3MW of power into the building allows provision of single or three phase power of up to 32 amps dual feed per rack. N+1 UPS systems seemlessly take over in the event of mains power failure. 4 x 1MW MTU Generators are present as a back up solution, in the unlikely event of a loss of mains power, these are are refuelable during use and have 24x7 fuel delivery contracts in place.
Security
The main entrance door and multiple interior doors are accessed using a photo ID swipe card procedure. A ticket will need to be raised to request access at least 24 hours before a visit to the facility and photo ID presented on arrival. CCTV coverage of all entry and exit points along with several points inside the data centre is monitored, recorded and archived for 3 months.

Network connectivity is provided by 'carrier neutral' multiple fibre and IP transit, meaning that clients can choose their preferred connectivity provider. From the Data Centre we also provide break out to the PSTN enabling us to provide a SIP Trunking service.
Physical Environment
Close Control Air Conditioning System (N+1) is provided with down-flow air discharge and cold air feed to the racks via grilles in the raised floor. Each grille is fitted with a damper allowing control of air flow within each aisle. The units also filter the air to maintain a dust free environment. All rooms are protected with automated FM200 extinguishing system.
Power
Diverse public mains electricity supplies are backed up by multiple UPS’s (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) (N+1). In the event of an extended power failure, multiple on-site diesel generators (N+1) can run indefinitely continuing to feed the UPS’s. The Guernsey data centre is designed to supply an average of 5kW of power per rack.
Security
Security is fundamental to the Guernsey data centre. Proximity tags are in use to control access to the data centre. Only authorized personnel have access to the secure areas and all access is logged. All entrances are monitored and recorded via closed-circuit cameras.
Network
Communication and data links are fully resilient via separate fibre circuits with microwave back up which connect directly into the telecoms network. Off-island links are provided over three resilient European routes. Essant offers “clean pipe” connectivity that keeps its clients’ Internet-facing infrastructures free of DDoS traffic, worms, and other server exploits. The system recognises all attacks targeting customer mitigated bandwidth, filters out DDoS data packets from the customer’s inbound traffic, and then delivers purified traffic to the customer’s network, in a manner that is completely transparent to legitimate traffic flow.
